Our Professional Staff

JAMES R. LUDWICK, is a 1971 Graduate of Liberty High School, Bethlehem, PA. He is a 1976 Graduate of Simmons School of Mortuary Science, Syracuse, NY, and received his Funeral Director's license in 1977. He holds a BA in Social Sciences from Pennsylvania State University. He attended Elon College, NC, Moravian College, Bethlehem, PA and Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, PA. James has two daughters, Amy and Beth, and is a Member of St. Paul's UCC Church, Kutztown, PA., where he serves on the Property and Finance Committees. He is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, International Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association, Eastern Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, and Bethlehem Lodge #283, F.&A.M. James has owned the Ludwick Funeral Home since 1986, and has been the President of Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc. since 1997. James is the Supervisor of the facility in Topton, PA.

DERON K. YOUSE, another life-long resident of Kutztown, PA, graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1984. He is a 2000 graduate of Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, PA, where he received an Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education. Deron received his Funeral Directors license in 2001. Having been a former paramedic and police officer, Deron has had a lifetime of service to others. He is a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Kutztown, PA., and was a Ten-Year Secretary of Fraternal Order of Eagles, Aerie #839, Kutztown, PA. He is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Berks Funeral Directors Association, where he serves as Treasurer. Deron is the Supervisor of the facility in Kutztown, PA., and has been a part of the Ludwick Funeral Home staff since 1989.

EMORY B. FENSTERMACHER, a life long resident of Kutztown, PA, graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1953. He is a 1956 Graduate of Eckels School of Mortuary Science and Temple University, receiving an Associate Degree in Technology. Emory received his Funeral Directors license in 1957. He is a member of St. Paul's UCC Church, Kutztown, PA., where he served as an Elder and a Deacon of the Consistory. Emory is a member of the Kutztown Lions Club, the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, Berks Funeral Directors Association, and Huguenot Lodge #377, F.&A.M., Kutztown. He and his wife Sandra F. (Scherer) reside in Kutztown, and have three sons, Craig, Taylor, and Brent and two grandchildren. Emory has been a part of the Ludwick Funeral Home staff since 1987.

JONATHAN M. QUIER, a life long resident of Kutztown, PA, graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 2006. He is a 2009 graduate of Northampton Community College, Bethlehem, PA, where he received an Associate Degree in Funeral Service Education. He received his Funeral Director's license in 2010. Jonathan was awarded with the 2009 Pennsylvania Funeral Director's Award and also served as class vice-president. He is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown, PA., where he serves as a Catechetical Class Mentor, Mutual Ministry committee, and an active vocalist and musician. Jonathan received his Eagle Scout award in 2005. He is also a member of the National Funeral Directors Association, Pennsylvania Funeral Directors Association, International Cemetery Cremation and Funeral Association. He is involved with The Brandywine Minstrels, and also performs in various church and music groups throughout the community, including drumming and singing with local musician, Jim Meck. Jonathan has been a part of the Ludwick Funeral Home staff since 2005.

Our Advance Planning Staff

AMY E. (DETURK) KOENIG, another life long resident of Kutztown, PA, graduated from Kutztown Area High School in 1982. She received her insurance license in 2004. Amy is a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Kutztown, PA., where she serves as a Church Council member and Youth Group leader. Amy resides in Kutztown with her three children, Sarah, Rebecca, and Connor. She is currently the chairperson for the American Cancer Society's Relay for Life, Kutztown. Amy is our Advance Planning Insurance Advisor, Aftercare Coordinator, and on-staff Notary Public. Amy has been a part of the Ludwick Funeral Home staff since 2006.

Our Administrative Staff

VERA L. (ELY) FREDERICK, has been the Office Manager of the Ludwick Funeral Homes, Inc. since 1991. She graduated from Parkland Area High School in 1967 and Lehigh County Community College with an Associates Degree as a medical secretary in 1968. Vera is a member of Christ (DeLong) UCC Church, Bowers, PA., and a member of the Junior Women's Club of Muhlenberg, Reading, PA. She and her husband James reside in Bowers, PA., and have two children, James and Jonathan, and a grandson, Joshua Frederick.
