Dear Barbara and family,
I was out of town, and when I returned, I picked up newspapers and was shocked to see Burt's name in the Sunday's Obituary page. Please accept my sincere condolences.
As you may recall, I worked with Burt for years in the same engineering department at AT&T on the Boulevard and always liked him. He had that quiet dignity about him, and after reading his obituary I see where it came from.
I knew he was in World War II, but not in the detail I learned from your comments. He never went into details about his military service. However, in my opinion, he was a true American Hero.
I myself was in the Navy during the Korean Conflict.
Again, let me express my deepest sympathies.
Regards,
Bob Drexinger
