Sarah J. Merkel, 80, of Klines Corner Road, Kutztown, died Sunday, January 28, 2007 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Twp., near Allentown. She was the wife of Ernest H. Merkel.
Born in Maidencreek Twp. she was a daughter of the late Ralph and Ellie Phillips. She was a homemaker. She was Lutheran.
She is survived by Husband, Daughter, Barbara (Merkel) wife of Charles Katzman, Portsmouth, VA; Sons, Albert T. and Neal L. Merkel both at home; Brothers, Earl C. Phillips, and Paul R. Phillips, Hamburg; and a Grandson, Brant.
Funeral Services are Thursday, February 1, 2007, at 10:30 AM from Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown. Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Wednesday from 7:00 PM to 8:00 PM. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
