Russell G. DeLong
Russell G. DeLong, 91, of Trexler Avenue, Kutztown, died Monday, July 4, 2005, in Lehigh Valley Hospital, 17th and Chew Streets, Allentown, where he had been a patient since June 22, 2005. He was the husband of Catherine V. (Peifer) DeLong. They were married on May 12, 1945.
Born in Kutztown, PA, he was the son of the late Jacob and the late Mary (Boyer) DeLong. He worked in the enamel department at the Caloric Corporation, formerly of Topton for 25 years retiring in 1979; and, he worked in security at Carpenter Technology, Reading, for 7 years. He was a charter member of the Kutztown Hobos; and, he was a member of the truck crew of the Kutztown Fire Company and on the board of trustees. He was a member of St. Paul’s UCC Church, Kutztown, where he was a deacon and member of the consistory.
He is survived by Wife, Daughter, Nancy L. (DeLong) Delp, Temple; 3 Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Friday, July 8, 2005, at 11:00 AM from St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47 -51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, 19530. Inurnment at the convenience of the family. Friends may call Friday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.
The family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47 -51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
