Russell E. ConradRussell E. Conrad, 87, of Kutztown, died Sunday, August 3, 2008 in The Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading. He was the husband of Virginia A. (Frederick) Conrad. They were married July 27, 1946, having just celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.

Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late Clayton W. and Hettie I. (Peters) Conrad. He was a member of Saint John’s United Church of Christ Church, Kutztown. He was a US Marine Corps veteran of World War II. Since 1964 he owned and operated Russell E. Conrad, Inc., Kutztown, a local fuel oil distribution company.

He is survived by Daughters, Anne L. (Conrad) wife of Barry L. Madenford, Fleetwood, Teresa D. (Conrad) wife of Glenn N. Stitzel, Quakertown; Sons, Patrick J. husband of Holly A. (Betz) Conrad, Kutztown, Michael F. Conrad, Hamilton, Ohio. In addition, he is survived by 12 Grandchildren, and 4 Great Grandchildren.

Funeral Services are Friday, August 8, 2008, 10:30 a.m. from Saint John’s United Church of Christ Church, 257 West Walnut Street, Kutztown. Interment with military honors provided by Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton, in Hope Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Thursday from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown and Friday 9:30 to 10:30 AM in the church.

Flowers may be sent or contributions may be made to Saint John’s U.C.C. Church, 257 W. Walnut St., Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
