Richard D. “Rich” Rice, Jr.
Richard D. “Rich” Rice, Jr., 35, of Mertztown, PA, died Wednesday, August 23, 2006 in his home.
Born in Altoona, PA he was the son of Richard D. and Suzanne (Coughlin) Rice, Sr. of Portage, PA. He was a 1988 graduate of Portage Area High School and received his Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering from Penn State, Behrend Campus, Erie. He was a software engineer for the past two years at Moritz Aerospace, Hatfield; prior to that he worked in the same capacity at Accu-sort, Telford, for nine years.
He is survived by Parents, Fiancée, Jane C. Csir with whom he resided; Brother, Jeffrey Rice, Kutztown; Paternal Grandmother V. Mae Rice, Ebensburg, PA; special girls Nikki and Paradise; numerous special aunts, uncles, cousins and a multitude of friends with whom he was very close. He was predeceased by maternal grandparents George G. and Emma C. Coughlin and paternal grandfather Charles W. Rice.
Friends may call Saturday, August 26, 2006 from 12:30 to 3:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown, PA. Funeral Services are Monday, August 28, 2006 at 11:00 AM from the Askew-Houser Funeral Homes, Inc., 300 N. Julian Street, Ebensburg with a calling hour from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Inurnment in Lloyd Cemetery, Ebensburg.
