Phyllis LeibenspergerPhyllis R. Leibensperger, 73, of Mertztown, died Tuesday, August 11, 2009 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, after a long battle with cancer. She was the wife of the late Marlin A. Leibensperger who died on May 16, 1981.

Born in Bowers, Maxatawny Township, she was a daughter of the late James E. and Mabel A. (Stump) Schwoyer. She was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. She was a production worker at Kraft Foods, Inc., Fogelsville, for 20 years retiring in 1993. She was also a custodian at Electro Space Fabricators, Inc., Topton.

She is survived by Daughters, Donna M. (Leibensperger) wife of Mark S. Derr, Alburtis, Debra L. (Leibensperger) wife of Dale E. Fink, Diana L. (Leibensperger) wife of Steven R. Weidner, Dawn A. (Leibensperger) wife of Keith Eisenhardt, all of Mertztown; Sisters, Lucille (Schwoyer) wife of Theodore Jones and Joanne (Schwoyer) wife of Daniel Pauley, both of Mertztown, Sallie (Schmoyer) Weil, Kutztown; Brother, William Schwoyer, Blandon, 8 Grandchildren; 1 Great Grandson and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by Brothers, James, Ronald and Forrest Schwoyer and Sisters. Carol Ann, Virginia and Gloria Schwoyer.

Funeral Services are Friday, August 14, 2009 at 1:00 PM in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. Interment in the Union Cemetery of Bowers, Bowers. Friends may call Thursday 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton, and Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 PM in the church.

The family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund of the New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
