Mildred J. Adam
Mildred J. Adam, 96, of Kutztown, died Saturday, April 4, 2009 in Phoebe Berks Health Care Center, Wernersville, where she was a patient since March 10, 2009. She was the widow of Carl D. Adam who died December 9, 1997.
Born in Kutztown, PA, she was a daughter of the late Milton G. and Lena M. (Bock) Oswald. She was a member of Saint Paul’s United Church of Christ, Kutztown. Mrs. Adam was employed as a twister at the former Kutztown Silk Mill. She last worked in the late 1930’s.
She is survived by Sons, Richard D. “Red” husband of Marion L. (Hainley) Adam, Reading, Barry L. husband of Shirley A. (Turner) Adam, Wernersville; Sister, Catherine M. (Oswald) widow of Robert F. Madeira, Kutztown her Brother, Gen. J. Russell Oswald, US Army, Retired, of Drums, PA, died earlier in the day. In addition there are 3 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.
Graveside Services are private at the convenience of the family in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown.
The family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund of St. Paul’s UCC Church, 47 -51 South Whiteoak Street, Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
