John Carr
 John Carr, 78, of Pricetown Road, Fleetwood, died Wednesday, June 25, 2008 in his residence. He was the husband of Maureen (Walker) Carr. They were married in St. Mary Church, Ecclesfield, England on March 30, 1956.
Born in Sheffield, Yorkshire, England he was a son of the late John and Nellie (Thorne) Carr. He graduated with a master’s degree in engineering from Rotherham College of Technology, England. He was a chief engineer in the gear design at the former GATX/Fuller Company, now F. L. Schmidt Company, Bethlehem, from 1971, last working in April of 2008. He was known worldwide for his engineering gear design work.
He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Alicia M. (Carr) wife of Paul Kovach, Lake Tahoe, CA, Madeleine T. (Carr) wife of Kevin A. Huyett, Alburtis, Rebekah E. (Carr) wife of David C. Gehman, Breinigsville; Sons, Alastair J. Carr, Fleetwood, Dominic D. husband of Julie (Reich) Carr, Alburtis; Sister, Kathleen (Carr) widow of Douglas Crapper, Sheffield, England; Brother, Trevor husband of Jean Carr, Withernsea, England; Grandchildren, Derek D. Carr, Elspeth V. Huyett, Ian A. Huyett, Catherine O. Carr, Ethan J. Carr and Aynsley A. Gehman.
Memorial Services are Monday, June 30, 2008 at 2:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Friends may call Monday from 1:00 to 2:00 PM.
