Helen C. Wessner

Helen C. Wessner, 77, of Highland Avenue, Kutztown, died Thursday, March 16, 2006, in the family residence. She was the wife of Wayne C. Wessner, they were married 42 years last June. Her first husband, Willis Kramer died in 1958.

Born in Northampton County, PA, she was the daughter of the late James and the late Carrie (Dornblazer) Bartholomew. She, along with her husband, were co-owners of Wayne C. Wessner Grain, Long Lane Road (Maxatawny Twp.), Kutztown for 45 years until their retirement in 2005. Prior to that she was a secretary for Kutztown Foundry, now McConway & Torley, Kutztown. She was a member of Court #61 Order of the Amaranth, Elizabeth Herr Chapter #131, Order of the Eastern Star, and the White Shrine, all of Reading. She was a member of Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, (Richmond Twp.) Kutztown.

She is survived by Husband, Sister, Mamie (Bartholomew) Hertceg, Bethlehem; Brothers, Robert Bartholomew, Bethlehem, Eugene Bartholomew, Schuylkill County; nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by sisters, Eva, Cula and Hilda; brothers, Victor and Ralph.

Funeral Services are Monday, March 20, 2006, 10:30 AM from Zion Moselem Lutheran Church, 340 Moselem Church Road, Kutztown (Richmond Twp.). Interment in Fairview Cemetery, Kutztown (Maxatawny Twp.). Friends may call Monday, 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions be made to the memorial fund of the church or Hospice Saint John of Berks County, 1711 Hampden Boulevard, Reading, 19604. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
