Harvey W. Ruppert, Jr.

Harvey W. Ruppert, Jr., 83, formerly of Seisholtzville and residing at the Lutheran Home at Topton for the past two years, died Thursday, June 25, 2009 in St. Luke’s Hospital, Allentown Campus, where he had been a patient since June 18, 2009. He was the husband of the late Evelyn C. (Dey) Ruppert who died on July 30, 1986.

Born in the village of Hancock, Longswamp Township, he was a son of the late Harvey W., Sr. and Esther (Trexler) Ruppert. He was an assembler at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 43 years retiring in 1988. Mr. Ruppert was a member of the Pikeville Sportsmen’s Association and the Seisholtzsville Fire Company.

He is survived by Son, Richard L. Ruppert, Sr., Allentown; Sisters, Shirley (Ruppert) Moss, Mertztown, Rachel (Ruppert) Kratzer, Kutztown, Joyce (Ruppert) O’Brien, Alburtis, Beatrice (Ruppert) LaFaver, Kutztown; Brother, Carl Ruppert, Breinigsville; 7 Grandchildren including Angela Utley, Richard Ruppert, Jr. and Kevin Ruppert whom were his loving caretakers; and 14 Great Grandchildren. He was predeceased by Sister, Virginia (Ruppert) Kuhns and a Step-Daughter, Geraldine Noll, who died in 2005.

Funeral Services are Monday, June 29, 2009 at 2:00 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 25 East Weis Street, Topton. Interment in Longswamp Union Cemetery, Mertztown. Friends may call Monday from 1:30 to 2:00 PM.

The family requests contributions to the Benevolent Care Fund of the Lutheran Home at Topton, 1 South Home Avenue, Topton, PA 19562. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Topton, PA.
