Harold J. Fritch

Harold J. Fritch, 83, of Luella Drive, Kutztown, died Sunday, January 14, 2007 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, Lehigh County, PA. He was the husband of the late Marie A. (DeLong) Fritch who died on August 22, 1999.

Born in Upper Macungie Township, Lehigh County, he was a son of the late James S. and Edna M. (Knappenberger) Fritch. He was employed first as a press operator, than a shift supervisor at the former Caloric Corporation, Topton, for 40 years retiring in 1985. He was a US Army Veteran of WWII where he was assigned to Battery A of the 557th Artillery Battalion serving in Northern France, Rhineland, Ardennes and Central Europe. He received the Good Conduct Medal, the American Campaign Medal, the European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal with four Bronze Stars and the World War II Victory Medal. He was a lifetime member of the Ray A. Master, Post #217, American Legion, Topton. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Topton. During the 1950’s he served as Vice President of Ziegel’s Church Sunday School, Breinigsville.

He is survived by Daughter, Carol A. wife of Timothy A. Romig, Wyomissing; Son, Jeffrey A. husband of Judy A. (Snyder), Lenhartsville; Sister, Edna wife of Joseph Ehrets, Coplay; Brother, Barry L. Fritch, Hellertown; Grandchildren, Elizabeth E. wife of Kevin C. Wulfhorst, Tinton Falls, NJ, Joshua B. Romig, Leesport, Devon M. wife of Jeffrey S. Terchick, Pittsburgh; Great Grandchildren, Emma M. Wulfhorst, Noah J. Romig, Isabella M. Romig. He was predeceased by Brother, James and Grandson, Todd L. Romig.

Funeral Services are Friday, January 19, 2007 at 1:30 PM in the Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich Street, Kutztown. Interment with Military Honors in Topton Union Cemetery, Topton. There are no calling hours.

The family requests contributions to Trinity Lutheran Church, PO Box 37, Topton, 19562 or the American Cancer Society, Lehigh Valley Unit, 3893 Adler Place, Bethlehem, 18017. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
