Harold A. Thompson
Harold A. Thompson, age 95, of 1 South Home Avenue, Topton PA, died Friday, June 30, 2000 in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading PA. He was the husband of Ruth A. (Painter) Kalbach Thompson. His first wife, Ella M. (Wartluft) Thompson died in December of 1975.
Born in North Heidelberg Township, Berks County PA, he was the son of the late Charles L. and the late Laura E. (Stump) Thompson. He was a 1921 graduate of the former Keystone Institute, Reading PA. He was employed as the Secretary, Manager and Director of Thun Investment Company, Wyomissing PA, until his retirement in 1967. He was also employed as the Assistant Credit Manager of Luden’s Inc., Reading PA from 1921 to 1941. He was also employed as Treasurer of the Wyomissing Foundation from 1941 to 1967; Director and Secretary of Penn Precision Corporation, Hyde Park; Vice President and Treasurer of Green Dunes Realty Corporation, Hyannisport, Mass. Mr. Thompson also served as Director of the Bank of Pennsylvania on the Loan, Trust, and Investment Committee for over 25 years. He was a member of Grace Evangelical Congregational Church, Kutztown PA.
He is survived by his Wife.
Graveside Services will be held Monday, July 3, 2000 at 2:00 PM from Womelsdorf Union Cemetery, Womelsdorf, Berks County PA. The Rev. Phil S. Walck Officiating. There are no calling hours.
