Ernest H. Wetzel
Ernest H. Wetzel, 75, of North Kemp Street, Kutztown, died Thursday, February 2, 2006, in the Reading Hospital and Medical Center, West Reading, where he was a patient since January 5, 2006. He was the husband of Jean A. (Sunday) Wetzel. They were married September 8, 1951.
Born in Allentown, Lehigh County, PA, he was the son of the late George C. and the late Alma (Warmkessel) Wetzel. He was a self employed contractor for many years until his retirement in 1993. He also owned and operated the former Wetzel’s Snowmobile, Lawn and Garden Shop, Kutztown from 1973. Prior to that he was a self employed dairy farmer in Greenwich Twp., Berks County, PA. He was a church council member of the former Dunkel’s Church, Kutztown. He was a member of the former Greenwich Twp. Auxiliary Police; he is a life member and served as president during the 1970’s of the Sliding Dutchman Snowmobile Club, Kutztown. He was a member of Kutztown and Virginville Fire Companies, Kempton Rod & Gun Club, Kempton (Albany Twp). He was a 60 year member of Virginville Grange, and a member of the former Virginville Lions Club. He was a member of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.).
He is survived by Wife, Daughters, Janice L. (Wetzel) Clemmer, Kutztown (Richmond Twp.), Eileen J. (Wetzel) Adam, Kutztown, Carol J. (Wetzel) Wolfinger, Kutztown; Son, Jeffrey D. Wetzel, Kutztown; Brothers, Edward Wetzel, Allentown, Alfred Wetzel, Mertztown; Sisters, Ruth (Wetzel) Ebert, Breinigsville, Lehigh County, Anna (Wetzel) Sechler, Allentown, Pauline (Wetzel) Seidel Reichelderfer, Mertztown, Sandra (Wetzel) Sylvester, Alburtis, Lehigh County; 7 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, February 7, 2006 at 10:30 AM from Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Rd., Kutztown (Greenwich Twp.) Interment in New Bethel Zion Cemetery, Kutztown (Grimville, Greenwich Twp.). Friends may call Monday, 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM in Ludwick Funeral Home, 333 Greenwich St., Kutztown and Tuesday, 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM in the church.
The family requests contributions to the Memorial Fund of Mt. Zion Lutheran Church, 1343 Long Lane Rd., Kutztown, 19530. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
