Donald M. Landis

Donald M. Landis, 81, of Lyons Road, Fleetwood, died Thursday, January 18, 2007 in the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where he had been a patient since January 16th. He was the husband of the late Mary E. (Sheetz) Landis who died on June 7, 2004.

Born in Boyertown, PA, he was a son of the late Harold W. and Edna (Moyer) Landis. He was a foreman in the pattern shop at Unicast Foundry, Boyertown, for 48 years retiring in 1990. He was a US Army veteran of WWII serving with Company E, 395th Infantry, 99th Division. He received the Purple Heart with two Oak Leaf Clusters. He was wounded in Germany on December 14, 1944, March 6, 1945 and April 25, 1945. He was a Pennsylvania VFW member. He was a member of New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Fleetwood. He was a current member of the board for New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood.

He is survived by Daughters, Donna E. (Landis) wife of Brian E. Corll, Mechanicsburg (Cumberland County), Lisa J. Landis, Fleetwood (Rockland Township); Brother, Harold T. Landis, Jr., Gilbertsville; Grandson, Alexander H. Corll, Mechanicsburg.

Funeral Services are Monday, January 22, 2007 at 11:00 AM in New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood. Interment in New Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Fleetwood. Friends may call Monday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM in the church.

The family requests contributions to New Jerusalem Lutheran Church, 27 Lyons Road, Fleetwood, 19522. Arrangements are by the Ludwick Funeral Home, Kutztown, PA.
