Catherine R. Miller
Catherine R. Miller, 84, of Kutztown, died Friday, October 3, 2008 in Lehigh Valley Hospital, Salisbury Township, where she was a patient since September 29, 2008. She was the wife of Irvin L. Miller. They were married on December 25, 1944.
Born in Rockland Township, Berks County, she was a daughter of the late Howard O. and Queenie (Hauck) Moyer. She was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion’s Union Church, Maxatawny Township, where she was also a member of the Ladies Aid Society. She worked as a sewing machine operator at the former Royal Manufacturing, Alburtis, for three years. She and her husband were dairy farmers for over 40 years in Maxatawny Township, until their retirement in 1987. She lovingly cared for her six grandchildren throughout the years. She was a member of Pike Township Sportsman’s Club and its Relief Association, Oley, PA.
She is survived by Husband, Irvin L. Miller; Daughters, Leatrice M. (Miller) wife of Glance L. Moatz, Topton, Nancy L. (Miller) wife of Robert L. Scheidt, Jr., Kutztown. There is a Brother, Lee R. Moyer, Mertztown; Step Brother, Curtis Cronrath, Topton. In addition, there are 6 Grandchildren, Michael S. husband of Pamela K. (Mengel) Moatz, Angela (Moatz) wife of Michael L. Steltz, Adrienne R. Scheidt fiancé of Brian Wright, and Amberly J. Scheidt.
Funeral Services are Tuesday, October 7, 2008 at 10:30 AM from Zion’s Union Church, Route 222, Kutztown. Interment in Zion (Maxatawny) Union Cemetery, Kutztown. Friends may call Monday evening from 7:00 to 8:30 PM in the church.
